Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a message.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
