The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the party reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
