Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who breached a barricade and grabbed the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or removed from Singapore.

A viral footage depicts the individual from Australia pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though court documents indicated that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account features recordings of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over the Star's Safety

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further response on Instagram.

A number of supporters also questioned guards at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not commented on the situation, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of fans had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including several who had waited for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two distinct witches.

The show itself is a adaptation of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and received ten award recognitions, winning a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
