Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Approximately 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the state, generating wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Residents observed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, nearly one thousand households in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At the height on the previous day, more than 28,000 power users in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both regions.
Safety Concern
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
