Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but can the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
