Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its aerial protection systems. The first three manufacturers have begun production, with 11 more getting ready to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Situations

The drones will be based on a nationally created technology known as “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and proved successful “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” officials stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.

Recent Assault on Kyiv Characterized as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president characterized Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and brutal” after six people were killed and dozens injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv. Air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv just after 12 AM on Friday, with Shahed drones quickly heard overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukrainian air defences.

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, Madrid, next Tuesday to meet with lawmakers following his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. Zelenskyy would meet deputies from all houses of parliament during his visit, an official announcement said.
